Fenix torches operating on 1 or more AA (penlite) batteries. These batteries are widely available in both alkaline and rechargeable NiMH varieties.

Fenix torches operating on 1 or more AAA (mini-penlite) batteries. These batteries are widely available in both alkaline and rechargeable NiMH varieties.

Fenix torches working on 18650 rechargeable batteries. Most of the time these torches will also operate on 2 CR123A batteries but the 18650 rechargeable batteries offer a cheap and powerful alternative.

CR123A batteries are small yet powerful lithium batteries (single use) that operate very well under difficult circumstances, such as in extremely low temperatures and a heavy workload. Most Fenix torches will also accept the rechargeable RCR123A battery.
